The Australian Championship is an Open event.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

• • Level 1 may 'dance up' to Level 2 in all age groups and styles

• • No other levels may 'dance up' (ie. Level 3 cannot 'dance up' to Level 4 and so on)

• • Age Group Restrictions are in place - you may only dance in your Age Group (ie. Youth cannot dance Adult, Masters 2 cannot dance Masters 1)

• • To compete in the Open events you must be Level 3 or higher

• • You will receive an automatic confirmation once your entry has been lodged online

• • Closed Australian Standard & Latin: Only Level 5 Adult couples are eligible to enter

• • The highest placed Australian couple in the Australian Open, which incorporates the WDSF International Open will be eligible to represent Australian in the relevant WDSF World Championship event

The winners of the Standard and Latin Youth and Junior Open events will be eligible to represent Australia in the WDSF World Championship events providing such an event is conducted. If the winning couple are not eligible (due to age) at the time of the World Championship, the 2nd placegetter will take the representative position and so on down to and including 3rd place.

The Australian Open is conducted simultaneously with the WDSF International Open. The highest placed Australian couple in both the Standard and Latin will be Australia's No. 1 couple for the WDSF World events in 2013.

The online entry system will provide you with a list of events that you will be eligible to compete in as per your qualifications and interests that you will provide.

Couples whose events are scheduled for the Sunday are eligible to apply via info@australiandancingsociety.com.au for competitors tickets at the Sunday prices.

OVERSEAS ENTRANTS:

If you are a resident in another country, please ensure you are registered with the WDSF Member Body in your country. If you are not currently registered with your WDSF Member Body in your place of residence please ensure that you register with them prior to lodging your entry. Overseas entries will not be accepted until confirmation is received from the WDSF Member Body in your country.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

By lodging an entry with the organiser, each Competitor agrees that they are, where relevant, subject to the provisions of and bound by the Constitution of Australian Dancing Society Ltd. ABN 47 005 166 950 and the By-Laws made thereunder, the Constitution of Dancesport Australia Ltd. ABN 72 085 929 835 and any By-Laws and Rules made thereunder, including any Rules of Dancesport or Rules of Competition and all of the relevant rules of competition or other regulations, provisions or decrees of the World Dancesport Federation or its successors in title (where applicable).

Lodging an entry with the organiser represents a commitment to compete. Competitors are required to advise the organisers if they are subsequently unable to compete. It is a condition of entry that all couples abide by the rules of the event as outlined in the Championship Newsletter.

All competitors, spectators, and parents of Juvenile and Junior competitors agree by participating or attending this event, any photographic or digital images taken by the official Photographers or in the event of television coverage or production of a Video Recording including any still photographs or digital images taken during the event, can and may be used for commercial purposes, either in advertising or on relevant websites to promote our sport . All competitors also agree that the rights to all fees from Video Recordings will vest with the Organiser of the event.

Any private information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and will be used for the purposes of entering you into this event and providing you with relevant information. You also are advised that we may use this information to verify your athlete licence with the WDSF or any WDSF member body as necessary. We may have a list of competitors on the Australian DanceSport Championship website.
